Lane Powell is a United States law firm based in Seattle, Washington.[1] Established in 1875, Lane Powell employs more than 200 attorneys with offices in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Anchorage, Alaska; Olympia, Washington; Tacoma, Washington; and London, England.[1] Prominent clients include Nordstrom, Home Depot and Wells Fargo.[1]
Lane Powell is a multi-specialty law firm with a broad range of practice areas. It is noted for its work in labor and employment, in which the firm represents management in labor relations, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, civil rights, employee benefits, workers’ compensation, OSHA/WISHA matters, immigration in state and federal courts,[2] and before government agencies involved in employment matters.
Lane Powell's Sustainability and Climate Change practice group writes and maintains a blog titled "Sustainability and Climate Change Reporter."[3] The Intellectual Property and Technology attorneys also have a blog, it's titled "Patent Practice Professional Liability Reporter."[4]

Firm history
- 1875: William D. Fenton establishes Portland office, McCain & Fenton
- 1900: John Powell and William Peters establish Peters & Powell in Seattle
- 1906: University of Oregon honors William D. Fenton by naming a building after him - Fenton Hall, which eventually housed the School of Law
- 1929: W. Byron Lane joins the Seattle firm as an associate
- 1935: Seattle firm renamed, Evans, McLaren, Lane, Powell & Beeks
- 1946 Frank Spears joins the Portland firm
- 1951: William Lubersky joins the Portland firm as a partner and McCain & Fenton becomes Spears, Lubersky, Bledsoe, Anderson, Young & Hilliard
- 1966: Seattle firm renamed, Lane, Powell, Moss & Miller
- 1979: The Seattle firm expands to Anchorage with the firm Ruskin, Barker & Hicks
- 1986: Office opens in Mt. Vernon, Washington
- 1987: Seattle firm merges with Cohen and Kaplan
